The vehicle now protected with the "Dashcam Defense": a 2018 Chevy Colorado ZR2 with the Duramax Diesel engine. We love the quality and reliability that the BlackVue brand brings to its dashcams, and we were stoked to publish our first installation of the brand new BlackVue DR900S-1CH 4K dashcam with a B-124 Ultra Battery pack into this pristine Colorado (cousin to the GMC Canyon).

Looking in from the outside, the BlackVue DR900S forward-facing camera looks like it is a factory-installed accessory. Using the awesome Blendmount to attach the DR900S to the rear-view mirror stem (instead of using the adhesive pad to attach the BlackVue to the windshield) gives this a true factory-installed look.
As you back up from the truck, the DR900S front camera begins to disappear in to the interior of the vehicle.
As we take a closer examination, you see the special touches that set our installations apart. For example, wrapping the camera cords into one bundle with protective sheathing really gives the installation a professional look that will last as long as your vehicle does.
Even looking from almost straight on, the BlackVue DR900S-1CH is a barely visible over that Duramax Diesel powerplant.
From the passenger’s side of the truck, the DR900S fits snugly underneath the rear-view mirror. The Blendmount Mirror Mount shown in this photo gives us that factory installed look that our client wanted.
You really need to get up close and personal to the unit before you can even tell the different pieces apart from each other. Here you can see the BlackVue DR900S, the Blendmount Mirror mount and factory installed rear view mirror as separate pieces.
This truck has truly got it all. Style. Performance. And now the vehicle and its owner are protected with by our "Dashcam Defense". In fact, thanks to the built-in OnStar WiFi hotspot inside this GM truck, our client enjoys all the additional free benefits of BlackVue's Over the Cloud protection, as well!
Now, we are going to pull back the curtain and tell you a few more things about this installation. The owner of this Colorado had us install the new B-124 Ultra battery pack. Unfortunately, because of where he wanted it installed in the cab, (under the back seat) we were not able to get any quality photos of the unit. He decided on the B-124 because of his extreme commute length and the longer battery capacity, instead of just relying purely on his battery with a Power Magic Pro.
This was a great truck to work on! With the new BlackVue DR900S-1CH installed it is ready for the showroom, to ravage some backwoods trails or just take a leisurely drive to the coast. Thanks for allowing us to outfit your new truck with the latest in dashcam technology.
