The awesome vehicle now protected with the "Dashcam Defense": Tesla Model S. The BlackVue product line is the only brand of dashcam we recommend for a high-end vehicle such as this Model S:
Looking in through the windshield at the front camera which sits nicely underneath the forward-facing sensors of the Model S. The dashcam does not interfere in any way with Tesla's on-board safety and/or guidance systems.
Looking in from the passenger side at the BlackVue DR650S-2CH / DR750-2CH / DR900S-2CH front camera (look to the right of the rear-view mirror). The front dashcam unit contains a Sony STARVIS image sensor, the WiFi communications module, G-sensor, internal GPS antenna (for position and speed logging), as well as an industrial-grade (heat/vibration tolerant and built for constant read/write cycles) 128gb BlackVue microSD memory card.
You can see how the front-facing camera sits nicely in front of the rear-view mirror, safely out of the driver's line of sight. You will still get the voice alerts so being nearly hidden is not an issue. Notice how we carefully route the wiring to/from the front BlackVue dashcam so as to minimize any exposed wiring.
Now looking in at the rear-facing camera of this BlackVue dual-camera system. You *really* have to look to see that there is a camera there; it's about the size of a Chap-stick.
The high-quality BlackVue DR650S-2CH / DR750S-2CH / DR900S-2CH dashcam almost looks completely factory (stock equipment) in this Tesla Model S! Not very many people are going to realize that you have a dashcam in place, always there in case you need it. Now looking in from the driver side. When seated in the driver's seat, the side of the DR650S-2CH / DR750S-2CH / DR900S-2CH front-facing lens is all that is visible. The front-facing camera is practically invisible to the driver:

When looking in to the Model S from the driver's side, you can see we mounted the Power Magic Pro control box in the driver's side footwell, next to the OBD port, well within the driver's reach. The Power Magic allows for the dashcam to stay on and recording even if the Model S is parked and the vehicle is turned "off":
Look carefully and you can just see the Power Magic Pro control box above the driver's side footwell area:

You can see there is no exposed wiring in between the hatch and body of the Tesla. We route all cables through existing wire conduits for a completely stock appearance:
