The state-of-the-art U1000 dash cam from Thinkware offers Ultra HD 4K (2160p) front-facing video, as well as Quad HD 2K (1440p) recording from an optional rear-facing camera lens, for complete coverage in front of and behind your car or truck. The U1000 offers some of the sharpest video we've ever seen from a dash cam, hands down!

Let's get into a few of the features that make this in-car video camera stand above the rest of the Thinkware dash cam model lineup. The main U1000 dash cam unit utilizes an Ultra High Definition 8MP Sony STARVIS image sensor and records in an astonishing 4K @ 30fps (frames per second), or you can drop the resolution setting to record in 2K 1440p @ double the framerate of 60fps, if so desired. We always prefer more resolution to higher framerate but there are situations (such as track/race days) where a higher framerate for smoother video may be preferable. The main dash cam unit has a nice wide viewing angle of 150 degrees.

A few other highlights of the Thinkware U1000 dash cam:

  • 4K front camera resolution, 2K rear camera resolution
  • Optional Thinkware RADAR module for even longer parking mode duration
  • Connectible via direct-WiFi smartphone connection or Over-the-Cloud (via an existing WiFi hotspot in your vehicle)
  • Sleek new modern design
  • Quick "boot up" time: very short delay before recording when you start your engine
  • Compatible with Thinkware polarizing lens filter

And there you have it. With a sleek exterior, extra crisp and detailed video, safety features, parking mode, built in GPS, WiFi & optional cloud services, and now even an optional radar module for even more parking mode recording time, Thinkware’s new U1000 is an amazing premium option for drivers wanting the very best possible video recording quality and a good name brand from their dash cam.
